IT is believed that between 40 and 60 workers are to be made redundant by Mabey Bridge with the axe potentially falling between the Lydney and Chepstow bridge building sites.

At the time of going to press, Mabey Bridge had not confirmed the news or the exact number of job losses planned.

A further 16 agency staff working at Glaxosmithkline's Ribena plant in Coleford also lost their jobs earlier this week, with the remainder of the Randstad Agency shopfloor staff to go by Christmas.
