PUPILS at Drybrook Primary School swapped the classroom for the ballroom as they took part in their annual dance festival on Friday.

Children aged from three to 11 visited Drybrook Memorial Hall, where each class performed a dance to reflect a theme.

The nursery class performed Thomas The Tank Engine while reception children titled their routine Let’s Get Cooking.

Children in the Chestnut Class brought a Native American circle dance to life and Pine Class created an Aboriginal rainbow serpent dance. Oak Class re-enacted Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Headteacher, Ms Sara Albon said: “This is such a brilliant way to bring our creative curriculum to life. The high level of choreography is testament to the creativity and confidence of our pupils and their amazing teachers.”

Drybrook School pupil, Martha Hampson added: “The dance festival is my favourite day of the year. I am in Year Six so this was my final dance in this incredible festival. I made the most of every minute as it is so amazing to see everyone in the school up and dancing.”
