A GROUP of Forest knitters raised £900 for the Great Western Air Ambulance with a marathon.
The ‘Forest Knitathon’ took place at the Parkside complex in Coleford in November.
And last Friday (January 11), Ian Cannconi of the GWAA charity was presented with a cheque.
Barbara Harvey, who helped organise the event said: “We were knitting from 10am to 8pm. Some people were working on their own projects and others were making items such as Christmas jumpers.
“We decided to support the GWAA because it does such fantastic work but does not receive any money from the government.”
The group meets every Tuesday and Friday at Parkside.
