Soudley 4,

Mushet and Coalway 3

'GRIM' nicely summed up Mushet and Coalway's second-half performance against Soudley.

"Any team that manages to throw away a three goal half-time advantage deserves to lose," reflected Mushet secretary Jason Daw. "We did it and that is to take nothing away from Soudley. It was no fluke. They played really well and deserved their success. But no side three goals up should ever be in the position we were."

Daw said that the match really reflected Mushet's season.

"Our player manager John Latham has done a really good job but he is rebuilding after three really good seasons and he has not had any luck with injuries. In fact I don't think we have been able to field the same team for two consecutive weeks," he said.

Both Soudley and Mushet occupy midtable positions and Daw believes that is certainly where his team deserves to be.

"Huntley are top and they are there on merit. It seems to be that the rest of the teams are much about the same. On our day we can beat the lot and the next week lose to the lot. There is simply no consistency," said Daw.

Daw remains optimistic Mushet will be one of the leading teams next season.

"After three good years under Alan Childs we have been forced to make a lot of changes and in a sense come down to earth. But John Latham is doing a really excellent job and he may well be building the foundations for a good side next season," said Daw.

And he also had praise for veteran referee Roger Meakins of Tidenham ... "he always has plenty of cards to show but he does it with a smile," he said.
