I am writing to offer my support for Whitecross School, Lydney, at what is obviously a difficult time.

My two children are happy at Whitecross and I will not consider moving them.

I attended the meeting last week and came away satisfied that the head and his staff are doing all they can to rectify the problems, although I was frustrated by the constant interruptions, but this was predictable.

Mr Gaston has a history of turning round other failing schools and now that it is his reputation on the line I have no doubt that he will do this again.

After all this, I think the school will be much stronger for the future.

This school is at the heart of the community in Lydney. We all now need to pull together to offer support where we can, instead of making negative comments. We need to learn from the past, not dwell on it!
