A WOMAN who has just been appointed as Special Projects Officer for the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty says she is looking forward to her new tasks.
Liz Price, formerly a project manager for the Centre for Sustainable Energy and volunteer officer for the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers in Shropshire, will be working on community partnership projects.
She said: "I am really looking forward to working here in the Wye Valley, which is such a unique area of the UK.
"The position gives me a great opportunity to help raise awareness to local people and visitors of the special qualities that the Wye Valley possesses."
From Bristol, she graduated in 1993 from the University of Wales, Cardiff, with a BSc degree in Ecology and Environmental Management and has recently completed a masters degree in Environmental Policy and Management.
She was appointed to the AONB Joint Advisory Committee by the Forest of Dean District Council and will be working from the AONB's Monmouth offices.
As well as developing and assisting with the partnership projects she will be producing publications, assisting in running events and giving presentations on behalf of the AONB.
