MORE girls than boys are now attending some of the Forest Bukindai Karate sessions organised by martial arts expert Chris Rudge.
"For some reason karate has really taken off with girls and young women and some of the girls' classes are now much bigger than the boys' sessions," said Chris.
"Of course there is more to it than simply self-defence – it is a superb way of keeping fit and improving self-confidence."
Chris runs sessions for men, women and children in Coleford, Cinderford, Ruspidge and Lydney, and is currently planning more sessions at Newent. The classes cater for all ages and levels of skills from beginners upwards and members are given a free suit on joining up.
