SINCE the 24 stopped serving Lydbrook – causing great distress, loss of jobs etc – we are reduced to the one bus, number 35, which has also been reduced.

However, because of the landslide at English Bicknor this bus has not been going down to the bottom of the village but has turned up to Joy's Green at Upper Lydbrook past the recreation ground.

This has caused more angst for people living down the village especially those with decreased mobility.

I'm lucky in that I live at the top of Lydbrook so can stand outside the garage waving my arms around frantically hoping I am seen!

It now appears that as work won't start on the landslide until next year at least that the 35 will be going down the village and turning at the Courtfield though, in true Stagecoach communication style, not all the drivers know yet that this is the new route.

I thought I'd just like to let people know, who may not have heard and who live at the bottom of the village that they haven't been forgotten after all and will have some transport.

Soon we'll have our bus-passes but no buses. The government should be pleased it will save a fortune.
