While pouring endless cash and effort into Cinderford regeneration, Forest of Dean Council has fallen asleep on Lydney and left it to stagnate.
Why anyone thinks that Cinderford can suddenly become a vibrant hub with slow, poor road access and no train station is a mystery.
But now the elections are upon us, suddenly Lydney is getting 'investment' and the councillors are all keen to make development a priority.
A Sainsbury's that could ruin the town centre and a £3 million loan (who will pay that back?) to make one roundabout!
– Helen Balsac, Lydney.
