I can only assume that you in your editorial and Mr. G. Elsmore's comments written on September 23 were 'tongue in cheek'.

Mr Elsmore's comical comment that the UK. has benefitted by mass immigration because we can now eat fish and chips that were introduced by them is very amusing. He could have mentioned suicide bombings as in the London underground, black on  black gun crime, illegal mass squatting. The list could go on and on.

Mr Elsmore does mention Winston Churchill who famously quoted 'This Christian country will never be defeated.' I wonder what that great man would now think of this Christian Country rapidly turning into an Islamic one, especially if he could read the migrationwatch.uk online site? Their site makes interesting reading, that, I suggest anyone who thinks as your editorial writer and Mr Elsmore does (if you were being serious in your articles) should read.

Facts that they point out – from the Office for National Statistics – 1.1 million illegal immigrants in the UK. The UK population will increase to 70 million by the year 2029 due to an immigration increase of 68 per cent.

In the year ending 2009 in spite of the economic situation an additional 226,000 immigrants arrived in the UK. Under the last Labour government 5.2 million immigrants arrived while 1million British citizens fled these shores.

Of the money earned in one year by the Pakistani community in this country £520 million was sent back to Pakistan. Whilst I applaud the Pakistanis benefitting their country how does that benefit the UK?

What I would like the UKIP party to explain, because I doubt that other political parties will, is how, according to the government, is our spending billions fighting in Afghanistan keep­ing the UK streets safer?
