GOING outside the pub for a smoke turned into a nightmare for a Coleford man when the two men he went with turned on him and robbed him.

The 44-year-old man was drinking in the Kings Head, in Bank Street, Coleford, just before 9pm on Wednesday evening (December 28).

He was talking to two men, one of whom he recognised and who suggested they all go outside for a cigarette.

When the three went outside the victim was hit in the face and he fell to the floor. His wallet, keys and watch were stolen.

He gave chase as the offenders ran off into the Market Place. However he was again hit over the head and the offenders were able to get away.

The victim sustained cuts and bruising and was treated by paramedics.

Coleford police say they are keen to hear from any witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information about the identity of the offenders.
