CHARITY runner Kate Stewart received her medal for finishing the London Marathon and her dad probably deserved one for patience.
Jeremy Williams of Aylburton was at the finish line throughout the run and had to wait more than six hours for his daughter to cross the line.
Kate was running for TeamPB which was raising funds for research into prostate and breast cancer.
She said: "I was hoping to finish in less than five hours but I had knee trouble at mile 19 and had to walk-run the last seven so I finished in five hours 55 minutes.
"My dad had been at the end waiting for me and I was so glad to see him."
Kate was also being supported by her mother, Jane Williams who lives in Woodcroft and her 96-year-old grandmother Joyce Nash from Coleford.
So far she has raised more than £5,000 towards the target of £1 million for Team PB.
Kate, who now lives in Minchinhampton said: "It was an amazing experience but I never want to do it again.
"It was wonderful to be part of a team of 800 people working to raise money for two charities working tirelessly for a future free from cancer."
