THE bright ceramic work by Parkend potter Mary Rose Young has attracted many buyers but now a couple of exotic customers have joined her fan club.
Both Philipp Kirkorov and the Princess of Saudi Arabia have snapped up pieces...but who are they, you might ask?
"Our Russian Gallery contacted us in January, very excitedly, to say that Philipp Kirkorov had bought every piece they had in stock," Mary Rose told the Review.
"We had to look him up on the internet and it was immediately obvious that he's a mega pop-star in Russia. Because he's totally unknown anywhere else it's hard to know who to tell! Hopefully he'll appear at the Eurovision Song Contest brandishing a vase."
She added: "The Princess of Saudi Arabia visited our stand in Paris and again ordered a huge number of pieces to be delivered to the Royal Palace in Riyadh. She was surrounded by security guards and secretaries and assistants but, I suppose, because of their religion there was no name and no photograph provided."
