TO celebrate the areas link with Star Wars - The Force Awakens, Coleford Town Council is working with local businesses including Puzzlewood to plan a day of Star Wars-themed activities on May 4.

Local shops are being encouraged to theme their windows, run promotional offers and wear costume to help the town get into the spirit of things.

A local artist is also working with some of the town’s primary schools to run costume workshops for a parade and prize-giving planned for 3.45pm on the day in the town centre.

If your school is not directly involved and you are aged between eight and 12 and you would like to be a Jedi Knight, BB8, a Tie Fighter or any other character from the famous Star Wars films, and can be available for the parade at 3.45pm on Wednesday, May 4 please book a place on a free Easter holiday workshop that will run from 10.30am - 2pm on Saturday, April 2 at The Main Place in Coleford.

If dressing up isn’t your thing but you would still like to be involved in the event why not help out with making decorations for the town centre.

Local artist Tom Cousins has launched a Coleford Site Deco Youth Club for local teenagers starting on Monday, March 28 at Café Sixteen in Bank Street.
