THE MAYOR of Chepstow and his deputy both lost their seats on Chepstow Town Council.

Town mayor and Lib Dem Henry Hodges had been a town councillor for 25 years but the electorate in St Kingsmark preferred another Conservative, Ben Smith, to serve alongside re-elected town councillor David Dovey.

In St Mary's ward, deputy mayor and fellow Lib Dem Henry Ashby was also voted out.
