CONCERNED parent Andy Williams says he has been banned from a Coleford shop after taking video footage of the parking problems outside a local school.

Mr Williams, 35, was filming outside St John's School at Coleford.

"There is an ongoing problem there and my concern is that one day a pupil is going to be hurt. I was taking the film when I was approached by another parent.

"She was obviously upset by what I was doing and followed me home. I had stopped filming but the sound recorder was still working and I have to say she was very aggressive," said Mr Williams.

He said the woman claimed she had permission to park outside to collect a child who had hurt a knee.

"That is nonsense. She really lost her temper and I have the recording of her telling me I am no longer welcome in her shop," he said.

Mr Williams is urging parents to take more care near the school.

"Many parents drive there when they could easily walk. It has been said before but I am concerned there is the potential for a very nasty accident there," he said.

"I don't regret the filming. I was only trying to highlight the problem but it seems odd that I have managed to get to the age of 35 without being banned from anywhere only to be told I can no longer visit a toy shop," he said.
