SARA, the Severnside's well-known inshore and land search rescue organisation, is holding an open day soon (August 21).
The rescue station at Beachley near Chepstow will be open to the public from 10.30am to 4pm.
There will be displays and demonstrations of lifeboats, swift water rescue, land search and mountain rescue equipment. Police, coastguards, fire and rescue teams, SARDA search dogs, RayNet, sea cadets and other rescue and support agencies will be on hand, along with exhibits and amusement stalls, teas, burgers and face painting.
