AT least 50 motorists were randomly pulled over on Monday morning as police continued with their operation to clamp down on metal theft.
A dozen officers were parked in the lay-by of the former Cinderford Park checking for anyone transporting metal without the appropriate licence, insurance or details of who they have bought scrap from.
A police spokesman said: "Of the 50-60 people stopped, no one was breaching the law, which was an excellent result.
"Many of the motorists completely supported the action we are taking and were happy to be checked as they know how devastating this crime can be."
