A CHEPSTOW woman has landed a new career and look thanks to the help of a TV stylist as part of a competition to ‘reinvent’ herself.
Jo Perrin desperately needed a pick-me-up after she was made redundant after 12 years service at a local school.
So she entered the Bristol Fashion Week competition and was among the lucky five winners to receive an exclusive shopping trip at The Mall Cribbs Causeway with competition host, TV stylist Mark Heyes, a complimentary hair makeover and makeup master-class.
While shopping around Marks and Spencer, she was approached by two members of staff who said they’d really like ‘someone like her’ to work for them.
She said: “I couldn’t believe it. Two days later, I was being interviewed and was offered a job on the spot to become a brand ambassador for women’s wear at Cribbs.
“The role entails providing help and advice to shoppers and offering them a personal shopping experience that ensures they leave the store feeling ‘better dressed’.”
She added: “After feeling down and not having much self confidence recently, I feel ready to take on the world with my new career in my dream job. I’d love to get the message out to women that you need to take chances, push yourself beyond your comfort zone and embrace the opportunities that may come your way. This has been a week that has changed my life.”
The 52-year-old strutted her stuff down the catwalk in front of an audience of 380.
