GLOUCESTERSHIRE College held their annual catwalk show on Thursday (April 21) at the Royal Forest of Dean campus in Five Acres. This year the theme was Mods and Rockers.

Karen Baldwin, hairdressing and beauty technician at the college says: “This is a unit that our students cover each year as part of their NVQ Level Three course in hairdressing. We have 39 Level Three students this year and 42 models. The students work together across campuses – Forest and Gloucester – to design and create the catwalk. They design everything from props, music, background, lighting, timings and models.

“The theme is chosen by staff and the students then use various forms of research including internet, books and films to bring the theme to life.”

The event raised £274.74 for the Holly Gazzard Trust, set up to reduce domestic violence and fund hairdressing training in the wake of hairdresser Holly’s murder in 2014.
