AFTER much hard work and practice, Monmouth Music Theatre’s spring show opens tonight (Wednesday).

The production of Hello, Dolly is directed by Graham and Jane Bryant with Ian Russell as musical director.

The show, one of the greatest hits of musical theatre, is the story of meddlesome matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi.

The award-winning musical by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart, and which was made into a hugely successful film starring Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau and Michael Crawford, is soon to be revived on Broadway.

It’s a high-energy show with a large cast and the society is able to call on the skills of many talented singers and actors.

Among the memorable and uplifting songs are Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Before the Parade Passes By and, of course, Hello, Dolly.

The show runs until Saturday (April 1) at the Savoy Theatre in Monmouth with curtain up at 7.30pm.
