ROSS and District Motor Sports Club held another auto test at the livestock centre on February 18, with 13 entrants.

Spokesperson for the club, Keith Meakin said: “The weather was dry, making for an enjoyable afternoon consisting of five tests with three runs on each.

“First overall was Bob Barker in his Dutton B Plus, second was Richard McLachlan in Bob’s Dutton B Plus, which made a very good shoot out as they are revivals within different classes. Ollie Jenkins was third in his Mazda MX5.

“First in class one front wheel drive under 150 inches was Andrew Bridgewater, followed by Duncan Smith and Matt Law all driving Ford Fiestas. The production car auto test, for driver with passenger, was won by Cameron Probert in a Sierra #1.

“The organisers and competitors offer sincere thanks to all the marshals on a chilly winter’s afternoon. The next auto test will be Saturday, April 1, and is open to allcomers in the production car auto test class. This event is also a qualifying event on a national level enabling qualification for major championships.”

On Sunday, March 19, the club is holding its spring auto solo on the old rank Xerox site at Mitcheldean.

Keith added: “Once again this event is a qualifier for national championships, and is usually a very good day out. Spectators are welcome from 9am. For further information come along to the club house in Kyrle Street any Thursday evening from 8pm onwards.”
