THANKS for the super photo on page seven of last week's Review. As an enthusiast of both local history and old motorcycles, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You were not far out with your dating; the bike is a BSA twin, either a 500cc A7 or a 650cc A10 built between 1954 and 1961.

Difficult to be certain, but it looks earlier rather than later to me, and seems to fairly new, which puts the date around 1955.
