Forest MP Diana Organ might have wished for the skills of her Greek goddess namesake Diana the Hunter when she paid a visit to the RSPB's Nagshead Nature Reserve in the Forest.

For among the treats she had been hoping to see were some of the reserves basking adders.

Lashing rain and a somewhat cool day put paid to that but she did manage to see other sights on the reserve, and toured its visitor facilities in the company of RSPB officials.

The snakes rather wisely decided to keep well out of sight – and warm and dry!
