MURDER probe police have appealed for information over the death of a young mum-of-two with links to the Forest.
Hayley Khurana, known formerly as Hayley Kubiak, was found dead at her Gloucester terraced house after a 999 ambulance call shortly before 8.25am on Thursday, February 8.
The 22-year-old, who police say had had links with Coleford, was captured on CCTV walking in the city’s King’s Square late the night before, and detectives are appealing for information about her movements during the day.
A 26-year-old London man was arrested on suspicion of murder last week and has been bailed until February 28 pending further inquiries.
Police have released images of Hayley – the mother of two-year-old and seven-month-old daughters - the night before she died in the hope people will be prompted to come forward with information.
Detective Inspector Gemma Davies, of the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "We have CCTV of Hayley walking in King’s Square late on Wednesday the 7th - did you see her around that time? If you did please call us as you could have important details we need.
"We’re also particularly interested in where Hayley was during the day on Wednesday the 7th February. Did you see her and if so where - if you did was she with anyone and what was she doing?
"We’re continuing to make numerous enquiries but would still appeal to the public to come forward with anything they might believe is relevant."
He said that although Hayley lived in Gloucester, she had links to Coleford and other places.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned into her death. Gloucester coroner’s officer Terry Onions said: "At 8.26am last Thursday police received a call from the ambulance service informing them they were in attendance at a suspicious death.
"The police attended. They established that the deceased was Hayley Kubiak and a murder investigation was commenced.
"Dr Andrew Davison, a Home Office pathologist from Cardiff, was called and he attended to conduct a post mortem examination. He has given the cause of death as unascertained pending further investigation."
A family tribute to her said: "Hayley was only 22 years old with two beautiful little girls, she had her whole life to look forward to. Taken from us all at such a young age words can’t describe how the family are feeling at the moment.
"Hayley will be sadly missed from her two young little girls and the rest of the family. Rest in peace, Hayley."
Her brother Chris Ralston has set up a JustGiving crowd funding page to raise £3,000 towards her funeral at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/chris-randall
The donation page says: "Hayley was a 22 year old woman with two beautiful little girls... Hayley would of been 23 in July this year but was sadly taken from us on Wednesday morning leaving two little girls aged two and seven months.
"Hayley was such a loving mother to her little girls and loved by her family.
"Please help us raise some money to help support her two girls and cover costs to lay her to rest."
Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident 58 of 8 February, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
