THE Review and its army of readers has again come up trumps – this time providing names for everybody in this picture of the St John Ambulance East Dean division taken in 1948.

Postcard collector Roy Close was hoping that we might get some of the names but it was seen by Mrs Vera James who was able to provide a complete solution to the mystery.

Mrs James used to live at Woodlands, St White's Road, Cinderford and she found the picture in the collection of her late husband Mr John James.

He has left one of the best collections of first aid pictures and all are meticulously captioned.

Mr James was in charge of the Forest mine rescue service and when the last Forest deep mine closed in 1963 he and his wife moved to Crumlin near Newport.

Mrs James, whose father was Mr Bell who delivered coal, receives her Review every week from her niece and has done since it was published.

Now in her mid-80s Mrs James still does all her own shopping on the internet.
