IN REPLY to a local Tutshill resident's letter complaining of the lack of mowing at Miss Shirley's Fold.

The woodland is wonderful, the native trees are wonderful, full of berries and fruit, wildlife is abundant, birds, butterflies and moths are enjoying undisturbed grass and nettles. Native wildflowers grow in the spring.

The field, now a proper English woodland, is a joy, and we owe this to Miss Shirley who donated it to local residents.

It is after all, a native woodland not a showpiece of garden! – Name and address supplied.
