THE Cadogan family at Awre, near Newnham, have launched a new business venture they know will go with bang...clay pigeon shooting!

The well known Severnside farming family see the burgeoning sport of clay shooting as a natural extension to agricultural and they say their riverside land lends itself to a variety of layouts.

The layouts have been inspected for safety and granted approval for non-certificate holders to shoot under the supervision of an experienced person. At each shoot there will be BASC-trained and qualified safety officers.

The shoot has full insurance and on each day there will be cash prizes for top gun and those in second and third places. The first competition is this Saturday at Whitescourt Farm, Woodend Lane, Awre. (10am until 4pm).
