MONMOUTH author Naomi Rettig has just released her third book, Universal Murder, which she describes as a crime thriller with a sci-fi twist.

Naomi told the Review: “My previous two books were comedies and there is still humour in this book but it’s mainly a whodunit murder mystery.

“The novel is about Lexi King who has switched over to a parallel universe, due to a freak glitch, and finds herself the chief suspect in her husband’s murder. Except she doesn’t have a husband. Lexi must eliminate herself from police enquiries to avoid getting arrested before she can attempt to switch back to her correct universe. She is assisted by hospital porter Nathan who studies the phenomenon of parallel universe travelling.”

Naomi works in Dixton Surgery in Monmouth as a receptionist and is studying for a degree in English Literature with the Open University.

She added: “I write in whatever spare time I can find. I love books that make me want to find out what happens next. Hopefully my book will be a page turner for some.

“I’m always thinking ‘what if?’ when I’m writing. Anything is possible in fiction and that’s such an exciting and wonderful thing.”

Naomi’s website, www.naomirettig.com contains short stories involving various serial killers, end of the world tear-jerkers, drama, sadness, and marzipan cat zombies.
