Having spent a lovely week here in Yorkley with my dear friends Shirley, Jon and family, I felt I had to write to congratulate you on your excellent, informative newspaper! I lived and worked in the Forest of Dean, before leaving seven years ago with my husband Chris for Spain.

Chris was a director at Watts Tyres in Lydney for many years and I worked as a teacher at St. White's School in Ruspidge for 18 very happy years. You can imagine my thrill to see one of my ex-pupils, Daniel Mason, now captain of Forest Rangers, accepting the Memorial Trophy from Liam Teague's mum, Debbie! Bravo Daniel and team!

I also founded The Forest Youth Theatre and Forest Theatre Group and was fortunate to produce such great shows as 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Me and My Girl' and 'Bugsy Malone', to name just a few, along with Shirley and am very proud to have been contacted during my stay here, by many of the young (and not so young) thespians and  friends!Happy memories – thank you all, so sorry I didn't manage to see everyone. Next time!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and feel quite sad that I shall be leaving this glorious, glorious Forest of Dean and all of my wonderful family and friends here! Thank-you. – Carole Roderick.
