THE Forest charity, the Childrens Opportunity Centre has been rated by Ofsted as 'good' and praised for its "warm and friendly atmosphere where chidren feel cared for and valued."

The centre in Bowens Hill Road, Coleford, relies entirely on donations, grants and fundraising to offer early years sessions, holiday play schemes, parenting workshops and Early Years provision for an integrated group of children where about 50 per cent have a special need or disability.

Their report remarked on the 'very good progress' made by children in the setting. While centre manager, Marilyn Smith, and the Trustees were praised for their 'confident management' in supporting well qualified and skilled 'teams of staff who are highly motivated, enthusiastic and keen to develop what they offer.'
