WITH expected cuts to bus services in the Forest and throughout the county, people are now being asked what they think of the services.

At the end of last year Gloucestershire County Council announced it was intending to save £2m from its transport budget, probably by cutting some of the most highly subsidised routes.

This week the council has embarked on public consultation asking people what they think of services and what the transport priorities should be for the future.

The consultation started on January 11 and will end on January 31.

Questionnaires are available online at http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/busreview">www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/busreview and can also be ordered by telephoning the bus review helpline on 01452 426263.

Although it is not a certainty that the most highly subsidised services will be axed, they are probably at risk. The most subsidised routes in the Dean are:

•666 – Newent to Ross on Wye via Bromsash.

•678 – Newent to Gloucester via Taynton

•708/709 and 738 - Routes around the Coleford area to St Briavels.
