CHAMPIONSHIP onion eater, Sean Wozencroft, is about to make a world record bid for eating a single 7oz onion.
The world record for one onion weighed at 7oz (it's a meticulous system) is 48 seconds. Forest born Sean, who trained on onions while fishing with his dad, is set to beat that.
He says he's done the deed in 32 seconds in practice sessions. He's also got form, as a previous winner at the Newent Onion Fair – he won in 2010 and will be competing this coming year.
But to the matter in hand. Sean's attempt will be made on June 25 at the Miner's Welfare Hall in Cinderford. The Review will be on hand to record this historic attempt in its full glory. If it isn't recorded in full, the Guiness Book of Records don't accept it.
