A DERELICT building in Cinderford, which was granted planning permission for 10 apartments in 2012, has been sold.
Despite the application lapsing last August, estate agents Bidmead Cook said it’s highly likely the Railway Tavern, otherwise known as ’’The Tracks’, will be developed subject to planning consents.
Manager of the Cinderford branch, Kirsten Sutherland said: “The developer who has agreed the sale of the Railway Tavern is keen to get planning permission for 10 apartments plus a car port and bat loft.
“The sale is still very much in the early stages as we have just sold it but we hope it should go through successfully.
“Obviously the building has been empty for many years so it’s good to see that new life will be breathed into it and more housing is what Cinderford needs.
The former pub, in Station Street, was advertised for £235,000 and sold two weeks ago.
Kirsten added: “It didn’t take long too long to sell – it was snapped up relatively quickly by a developer.”
