• Hunting was once part of the Forest's seasonal calender and the area was regularly visited by both fox and otter hounds. This photograph loaned to us by Mr Nigel Knight, shows the successful conclusion to a hunt attended by Mr Knight's father, Mr Leonard Knight who was accompanied by a fellow Cinderford postman Mr Sidney Walkley. As neither men had a car the hunt was probably within walking distance and Speech House would seem most likely.
