PARKEND Nursery is celebrating receiving its second consecutive ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.
Manager Paul Cornock said: “We are delighted and very proud of our nursery. We couldn’t have done it without the staff, children and parents.”
The nursery is within the Parkend School site and, although it is privately-run by Helen Cornock, it enjoys close links with the school and is able to share some of the school’s resources such as the school hall and a large outdoor area.
Ofsted found the children are ‘extremely excited, mesmerised and motivated by their learning – they make outstanding progress because of their outstanding teaching.
They also found the children’s behaviour is of a ‘consistently high standard’ and children ‘benefit from exciting opportunities and gain extremely useful skills and positive attitudes.’
Helen said: “Outdoor learning plays a big part in the nursery’s routine and the children explore the outside regularly along with cooking and music and movement sessions.
“Our daily routine, environment and highly-skilled and motivated staff contribute to ensuring that all children reach their full potential.”
