A DILAPIDATED shop front beside a major chain store must be spruced up, planners have ruled.

The empty shop between Peacocks in Broad Street, Ross-on-Wye, and the entrance to Croft Court is ruining the street scene by being an eyesore, they said.

Herefordshire Council has issued a Section 215 ‘Untidy Land Notice’ to the building’s owner calling for it to be “adequately improved.”

Councillors heard the building had been abandoned for a long period of time,

The window frames and door screening must be repainted and tiles replaced, as the building has become “detrimental to the amenity of the neighbourhood.”
