SO our much loved councillors have decided, no doubt for the benefit of council taxpayers, to introduce car parking charges in council-owned car parks (I would have thought taxpayers are the real owners?)

They are confident they will make money out of this venture. That's doubtful.

What I have not seen is how much it will cost to purchase, install and maintain the equipment? And how much will it cost to employ people to empty these machines?

Also, will they employ people to prowl carparks to check on parked cars? Finally, how do they intend to deal with Blue Badge holders?
