A WOMAN who assaulted another in Cinderford will not have to pay compensation.

Magistrates in Cheltenham decided that making Tanya Jones pay her victim would be “likely to inflame the situation and would be unhelpful.”

Jones, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to assaulting a woman by beating in Cinderford on April 22.

The 36-year-old has been conditionally discharged for a year and ordered to pay £66 costs and surcharges.
