A PENSIONER and two other car owners had their cars keyed in a yobbish late night attack.

The 72-year-old mum-of-two, who doesn’t want to named, says it will cost £300 to repair the damage caused in Bream’s Hilltop.

But she hopes her dashcam footage can help police identify the culprits.

The criminal damage happened overnight last Wednesday to Thursday (September 11-12).

“It’s disgraceful,” said the pensioner. “The scratch is all the way down the passenger side across both doors. It’s just so unnecessary.

“A neighbour, whose husband has been in hospital, had her car scratched as well, and she really doesn’t need this extra worry.

“It’s so difficult to understand why they do this. I’m devastated.

“They could really do with CCTV up here.”

Forest councillor Richard Leppington (Ind All, Bream) has visited the pensioner, and has made an appeal for information on his Facebook page.

“The lady concerned is obviously very distressed and feels extremely vulnerable . In addition, she now faces a £300 bill to rectify the damage,” he said.

“If anyone has any information can they please PM me or phone me on 0781 638 1909. Any information will be treated with total confidentiality.

“In addition, if anyone knows a body shop that might be prepared to do the work for cost price, can they let me know.

“This is a very disturbing experience for a lady of advanced years. I am sure that the community will rally round to help.”
