SOCIETY is a historically  established abstract framework of which all human beings are a part, willy nilly.

A community is a   group of people working together for their own common good.

A traditional village with all the usual features could be an ideal community. Small, so its members know, respect, tolerate and help each other. Kindness, openness and democracy. Add  an energetic, good-spirited parish council skilled in the art of communication.

A  parish councillor started this debate, prompted, I feel, by upcoming  local government changes: All civil parishes to prepare  community plans, so they can implement planning matters; parish clerks to advise their members.

Littledean has done one, and others are in the pipeline. Some communities have newsletters, so a website is welcome, although not everyone has time and a good computer!
