The brick built terrace property, listed at £69,995, is under offer from a cash buyer, agency manager Dee Williams tells us – but she doesn't know if the practical hedge against enemy invasion attempts swayed the purchaser to act.
"Actually, we currently have two properties listed with old air-raid shelters," she said, adding that her representatives found them a little creepy when they went round to measure them up.
However, they could be used for growing mushrooms, a cosy retreat for hens or somewhere to keep a low profile when unwanted visitors (not necessarily aggressors) called round.
Fingers crossed they'll never be used for their original purpose.
