POLICE are hunting two suspects after a 64-year-old woman shopper had her bank card stolen from her handbag and used.
They have issued a CCTV image of two women they want to question about the incident, which happened on Thursday, December 7, in Monmouth’s Edinburgh Wool Store shop in Monnow Street.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "Her debit card was then used in two cash point machines, withdrawing a large amount of cash before they have then entered local shops in the town and purchased items with it."
Officers are appealing for information to identify the two women captured on security cameras who they believe may be able to help them with their enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 151 07/12/2017.
Shoppers have been advised to stay vigilant and keep their belongings safe.
