GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police have released a statement in which they say they are keen to hear from a motorist who 'may not have realised' that they had clipped a boy riding his scooter in Cinderford.

The incident, which happened last Saturday (April 27) at around 3.15pm, happened in Victoria Road, Cinderford, when the 12 year old boy – who has not been named – was 'clipped' by the Land Rover-type vehicle, as he rode along the yellow lines. The car was reported to be 'new looking' and green in colour.

The boy went over the handlebars of his scooter, and fell onto the ground, causing bruising to his leg.

Gloucestershire Constabulary officers are checking local CCTV images to shed light on the identity of the vehicle and its driver, but say that they are eager for the motorist – who they say may not have been aware of the collision – to come forward. They are asked to call 101, quoting incident 286 of April 27.
