THE police appeal for members of the public to help combat drug related crime in Cinderford has so far resulted in 10 arrests.
Inspector David Pickstock asked through the Review for help to target drug dealers in and around the town. He had revealed that as much as 80 per cent of Cinderford's crime was related to addicts carrying out burglaries to obtain cash for drugs.
"There has been a very good response and to date we have made 10 arrests directly related to drugs. Several other investigations are being continued," he said.
Insp Pickstock said he wanted the flow of information to continue.
"We want to get on top of this problem and to stamp of dealers. We have stated that our aim is to make life extremely uncomfortable for those selling drugs in the area and we will do just that," he said.
"I would urge people to continue to let us have information. It may not always appear that we have acted upon it immediately because often we have to obtain more evidence, but I can tell you that every little bit of information we receive is followed up."
