VERY soon the Royal British Legion in Lydney and nearby areas will be selling poppies.

I'm proud to say that I am into my 55th year and my total value is more than £10,000.

I was amazed when I was 'told' they don't do that for nothing and even have expensive badges pinned to their lapels.

Let me tell them the poppy people are unpaid volunteers with many collecting for more years then me.

Our total goes to our wonderful, brave forces.
