RENOWNED Bible teacher and preacher Charles Price will be returning to his roots on Saturday (October 8) at the invitation of Churches Together in Cinderford.
The preacher, who was born and raised in the Forest, will speak at a special meeting at the Forest High School’s Spotlight theatre.
Charles emigrated to Canada 16 years ago where he became the pastor of the 5,000 strong People’s Church in Toronto.
As pastor there his sermons are broadcast across Canada and then via cable TV to an audience of millions around the globe.
Recently Pastor Price retired to become minister-at-large for the People’s Church in Toronto.
Both Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, and his predecessor, Stephen Harper, sent him video messages for the special service to thank him for his service to the Canadian nation.
Chair of Churches Together, Pastor Tim Cracknell of the Forest of Dean Community Church, Cinderford, said: “We are very excited that Charles Price has accepted our invitation to speak at our special service in Cinderford.
“He is one of the most highly recognisable bible teachers of his generation in the Christian world.
“Speaking regularly to thousands at conferences in every corner of the world including the popular Spring Harvest and Keswick conventions in the UK. He is also a popular author.”
The event is free of charge and doors open at 6.45pm for an evening focusing on “Worship and the word”.
Worship will be led by the Community Church worship band. More information is available at www.fodcc.org or email [email protected].
