THE Forest branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) has named the Rising Sun at Bream as Forest of Dean Pub of the Year.

The High Street inn is run by landlords Peter and Julie Hicks, who are "delighted" with the award, which is to be presented on Friday evening. Everyone is welcome to attend, they say.

Spokesman for CAMRA Andrew Lock said: "Peter and Julie are commended for keeping and supplying a large and varied range of real ales of all types mainly from local, regional and national small breweries, all in tip-top condition and at very competitive prices.

"The branch would like to congratulate the landlords for their hard work which has resulted in this award.

"The branch would also like to wish them every success for this year and in the future."
