WE are extremely concerned about not having any recycling bins in Ruardean. The nearest recycling bins are in Drybrook, Lydney, Ross and Lydbrook. We have to travel a long way to recycle. This wastes time and energy.

We visited the Fairtide Centre in Lydney because we are trying to do something about recycling. At the Fairtide Centre they recycled aluminium, paper and cardboard. We have got a compost bin in our school field and we put left-over fruit from our lunchboxes in it.

We sent home surveys and we found that our parents want to recycle more and they would use the recycling bins if we had some. They want paper bins, bottle banks, plastic bins and clothes bins.

We used to have recycling bins and they were taken away and we would like to know why?

We researched what rots in the ground. Plastic and glass do not rot. We are really concerned that our planet will be a disgrace.
