EARLYBIRDS Playgroup in Cinderford celebrated a refurbishment, supported by Two Rivers Housing and Urban Living, on Friday, November 11.

Two Rivers Housing’s head of asset management, Luke Beard said: “We saw the playgroup committee’s plea for help with a new kitchen and contacted United Living – which carries out kitchen and bathroom improvements on our behalf – to see if they could work together to help the playgroup.”

Nic Carn, United Living site manager, added: “I went along with Jenny Lamb, a surveyor from Two Rivers, to see what we could do. We noted the potential to use recycled kitchen units and worktops that have been held in stock. We drew up some plans and were really pleased to be able to make a difference and help out.”

Earlybirds manager, Liz Probert said: “We are very grateful to Two Rivers who donated the kitchen units and United Living who fitted them and did all the tiling. The local authority identified a need for places for two-year-olds in this area, so we can now provide good facilities for the much-needed spaces.”
